Scientific project
The Biomechanics of Spine Injury and Pathologies project support by International A*MIDEX grant was a step to the creation of the International Laboratory on Spine Imaging and Biomechanics: the iLab-Spine.
The multidisciplinary and multi-institutional research endeavour aims to develop innovative methods and simulation tools to:
- improve the understanding of spine and spinal cord injury and pathologies;
- biomechanically analyze protective and surgical devices;
- design and validate improved injury prevention and surgical technologies.
In summary, the iLab-Spine is a major assets in the competition now underway to develop a portfolio of innovative approaches to improve the spine safety and health, with all the expected economic benefits for patients, national biomedical industry, and society.
